Support Our Troops products are still available from the website and Bridget hopes to raise more for the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmens and Families Assocation (SSAFA) Forces Help and the Royal Marines Charitable Trust at her Golf Day event on 13th May 2010.

Please help us to help them!

Monty and The Rifles

by Bridget 12/7/2008 7:55:00 AM

We are pleased to be able to announce that, following the raffle for Monty Bear, the sum of £219 was donated to the Devon and Dorset Regimental Focal Group, boosting their funds to send home comforts to soldiers of the 1st Battalion The Rifles who will be serving in Afghanistan this Christmas.  The cheque was collected by two members of the group yesterday.

Monty bear now has a new home with Ryan Grant in Crediton, Devon. Well done Ryan and thank you to everyone for your support.

Follow the bear to help the Rifles in Afghanistan this Christmas!

by Debbie 11/28/2008 1:29:00 PM

This lovely teddy bear, who goes by the name of Monty is yours to win for just £1!  He is a little over 3 foot tall and as soft as he looks.

We are raffling him to help the Devon and Dorset Regimental Focal Group to raise funds to send home comforts to soldiers of the 1st Battalion The Rifles who will be serving in Afghanistan this Christmas.  Following requests from the MoD not to send parcels to un-named personnel the members of the ex D & D's wanted to show their support for members of the new local regiment, and we wanted to give them a hand.

Using their contacts within the current regiment they are able to get parcels to named serving members for distribution.  They have been holding a raffle for many small prizes in local pubs and Monty is our contribution to the effort.   Last year we donated items to the Mid Devon Branch of the Royal Marines Assocation - like lipsalve, wetwipes, shower gel, toothpaste, disposable razors, drink sachets and sweets.  All these items were important to make conditions a little better and let the troops know that they are not forgotten, especially during the festive season.

If you would like to buy a ticket to win Monty bear, they are just £1 and are available from Military House, or the Westpoint Christmas Fayre in Exeter this weekend (28/29/30th November).  You can also send a cheque payable to D. Raymond for the number of tickets you would like - but be quick - the draw takes place on 6th December 2008.  (Sorry but we cannot take draw ticket monies by credit card or Paypal due to the transaction fees.)

Good luck!

by Bridget 10/12/2008 3:23:00 PM

We are pleased to be able to report that over £425 was raised for SSAFA Forces Help at our Big Brew Up 2008 event.  We hope you will agree that this is a fantastic total.  Our thanks go to Mole Valley Farmers who allowed a collection to take place, the Cullompton Detachment of the Army Cadet Force under the leadership of SI Dan Giles, our friends and families and everyone who attended to make the event such a success.

In addition to the monies raised on the day we were also able to donate a further £504 to SSAFA Forces Help on the day from the prior sale of Support Our Troops products from the website and at the shows we have attended in the past few months.

Thank you one and all!
