An army document leaked today suggests that, as a cost cutting measure, cavalry regiments of the British Army are to be merged with the infantry to form a new "combat capability directorate". HMS Prince of Wales … or is it?

Work has started on the construction of HMS Prince of Wales, the Royal Navy's newest aircraft carrier. She is the sister ship to HMS Queen Elizabeth. The Defence Secretary, Liam Fox, cut the first steel in a ceremony at BAE Systems' shipyard in Govern. Six shipyards will be involved in the construction of this massive Queen Elizabeth class supercarriers, the largest ships ever to be built by the Royal Navy.
