The 7th (Queen's Own) Hussars were formed in 1805. In 1958 the regiment amalgamated with the 3rd (King's Own) Hussars to form the Queen's Own Hussars. In 1993 the Queen's Own Hussars amalgamated with the Queen's Royal Irish Hussars to form the Queen's Royal Hussars which is the current regiment.
