The Black Watch (Royal Highlanders) was formed in 1881. In 1934 the title of the regiment was changed to the Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment). In 2006 the Black Watch became the 3rd Battalion of the Royal Regiment of Scotland which is the current regiment of the British Army.
