The Devonshire Regiment was formed in 1881. In 1958 the Devonshire Regiment amalgamated with the Dorsetshire Regiment to form the Devonshire and Dorset Regiment. In 2005 the regiment was renamed the Devonshire and Dorset Light Infantry. In 2007 the regiment became part of The Rifles, which is the current regiment.
