The King’s Own Royal Border Regiment was formed in 1959 on the amalgamation of the King’s Own (Royal Lancaster) regiment and the Border Regiment. In 2006 the King’s Own Royal Border Regiment amalgamated with the King’s Regiment and the Queen’s Lancashire Regiment to form The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment (King’s, Lancashire and Border), which is the current regiment of the British Army.
