The King’s Own Scottish Borderers came into being in 1887 but can trace its history back to Leven's Regiment in 1689. The regiment was amalgamated with the Royal Scots in 2006 to become the Royal Scots Borderers, 1st Battalion Royal Regiment of Scotland, which is the current regiment of the British Army.
