King's Regiment (Liverpool)
The King's Regiment (Liverpool) came into being in 1881 on the renaming of the 8th (The King's) Regiment of Foot. In 1958 it was amalgamated with the Manchester Regiment for form the King's Regiment (Manchester and Liverpool). In 1969 the Manchster and Liverpool suffix was dropped and in 2006 the King's Regiment was amalgamated with the Queen's Lancashire Regiment and the King's Own Royal Border Regiment to become the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment (King's, Lancashire and Border) which is a current regiment of the British Army.
