The King’s Regiment (Manchester and Liverpool) was formed in 1958 on the amalgamation of the King’s (Liverpool) regiment and the Manchester Regiment. In 1969 the Manchester and Liverpool suffix was dropped. In 2006 the King’s Regiment became part of The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment (King’s, Lancashire and Border), which is a current regiment of the British Army.
