King's Shropshire Light Infantry
The King's Shropshire Light Infantry was formed in 1881 on the amalgamation of the 53rd (Shropshire) and 85th King's Light Infantry Regiments of Foot. In 1968 the King's Shropshire Light Infantry was amalgamated with the Somerset and Cornwall Light Infantry, the King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry and the Durham Light Infantry to form the Light Infantry. In 2007 the Light Infantry became part of the Rifles which is a current regiment of the British Army.
