Manchester Regiment
The Manchester Regiment was formed in 1881 on the amalgamation of the 63rd (West Suffolk) Regiment and the 96th Regiment of Foot. It was amalgamated with the King's (Liverpool) regiment in 1958 to became the King's Regiment (Manchester and Liverpool). In 1969 the Manchester and Liverpool suffix was dropped and the regiment became the King's Regiment. In 2006 the King's Regiment was amalgamated with the King's Own Border Regiment and the Queen's Lancashire Regiment to become the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment (King's, Lancashire and Border) which is a current regiment of the British Army.
