Royal Berkshire Regiment
The Royal Berkshire Regiment (Princess Charlotte of Wales's) came into being in 1921 on the renaming of Princess Charlotte of Wales's (Royal Berkshire Regiment) which was formed in 1885. In 1959 the Royal Berkshire Regiment amalgamated with the Wiltshire Regiment to form the Duke of Edinburgh's Royal Regiment. In 1994 the Duke of Edinburgh's Royal Regiment amalgamated with the Gloucestershire Regiment to form the Royal Gloucestershire, Berkshire and Wiltshire Regiment. In 2005 the RGBW's were renamed the Royal Gloucestershire Berkshire and Wiltshire Light Infantry. In 2007 this became part of The Rifles, which is the current regiment of the British Army.
