The Royal Fusiliers can trace its lineage back to the Royall Regiment of Fuziliers which was formed in 1685. In 1881 it became the Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment). In 1968 the Royal Fusiliers was amalgamated with the Royal Northumberland Fusiliers, the Royal Warwickshire Fusiliers and the Lancashire Fusiliers to form the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers which is the current regiment of the British Army.
