The Royal Highland Fusliers (Princess Margaret's Own Glasgow and Ayrshire Regiment) was formed in 1959 on the amalgamation of the Royal Scots Fusiliers and hte Highland Light Infantry (City of Glasgow Regiment). In 2006 the Royal Highland Fusiliers became the 2nd Battalion of the Royal Regiment of Scotland, which is a current regiment of the British Army.
