Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers
The Royal Inniskilling Fusliers came into being in 1881 on the amalgamation of the 108th Regiment, the Fermanagh, Tyrone and Donegal Militias and the 27th or Inniskilling Regiment which had originally been raised as Tiffen's Regiment in 1689. In 1968 the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers were amalgamated with the Royal Ulster Rifles and Royal Irish Fusiliers to form the Royal Irish Rangers. In 1992 the Royal Irish Rangers were amalgamated with the Ulster Defence Regiment to form the Royal Irish Regiment, which is the current regiment.
