South Wales Borderers
The South Wales Borderers came into being in 1881 on the amalgamation of the 24th (2nd Warwickshire) Regiment, the Royal Montgomeryshire Militia and the Royal South Wales Borderers Militia. In 1969 the South Wales Borderers was amalgamated with the Welch Regiment to form the Royal Regiment of Wales. In 2006 the Royal Regiment of Wales became part of the Royal Welsh, which is the current regiment of the British Army.
