The Staffordshire Regiment was formed in 1959 on the amalgamation of the South Staffordshire Regiment with the North Staffordshire Regiment (Prince of Wales’s). Since 2007 the Staffordshire Regiment has been part of the Mercian Regiment which is the current regiment.
