The Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters were formed in 1970 on the amalgamation of the Worcestershire Regiment and the Sherwood Foresters (Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Regiment). In 2007 the Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters became part of the Mercian Regiment which is the current regiment.
