Worcestershire Regiment
The Worcestershire Regiment came into being in 1881 on the amalgamation of the 29th (Worcestershire) and 36th (Herefordshire) Regiments of Foot. In 1970 the Worcestershire Regiment merged with the Sherwood Foresters (Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Regiment) to form the Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters. In 2007 the Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters amalgamated with the Cheshire Regiment and the Staffordshire Regiment to form the Mercian Regiment, which is the current regiment.
