Fleet Air Arm
The Fleet Air Arm is the air force of the Royal Navy. It's history can be traced back to 1909 when the Admiralty first set aside funds for the development of an airship. Although renamed several times during it's early history the title Fleet Air Arm has been in place since 1952. When not on operations most Fleet Air Arm squadrons are based as RNAS Yeovilton in Somerset (HMS Heron) or RNAS Culdrose in Cornwall (HMS Seahawk).
