  • The Canadian International Military Tattoo
The Canadian International Military Tattoo is dedicated to "Connecting Canadians to Their Military" through its annual performance of a traditional military tattoo at Copps Coliseum, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. CIMT’s 18th annual production will be presented on 13 and 14 June, with Saturday’s performance at 1930 hrs and Sunday’s at 1430 hrs.

With its magnificent castle backdrop and superb lighting and acoustics, the Tattoo is one of the finest and largest events of its kind in Canada. A cast of 400 to 500 presents a two-hour performance that features massed military bands, pipe drums, dancers, drill teams, military demonstrations and a guard of honour. Our audience of 5,000 to 8,000 is drawn from across south-western Ontario, the Greater Toronto Area and south-west Ontario's American border state neighbours. CIMT is a multiple winner of the Ontario Ministry of Tourism’s annual "50 Best Events to See in Ontario", and has just been awarded "Top 18 Festival Events" in the province.

The Tattoo is a significant event in its message, scale, content and family entertainment value. It promotes the virtues of military service, displays the rich traditions of our armed forces, and provides an opportunity for ordinary Canadians to show their gratitude to, and support for, our veterans. By veterans, I mean not only those who served during our 20th century wars but also the current generation of young men and women in uniform who, like their forebears, have shown they are prepared to risk their lives in that most noble cause – duty and service in the name of Canada.
